Bringing nature into focus: our collaboration with Bureau

The best introductions happen when someone who truly understands both worlds brings the right people together. That's exactly what happened when our Non-Executive Director, Paul Evans, introduced us to the team at Bureau.
Paul's background spans IoT, sensor technology, and facilities management, so when he saw Bureau products and what we were developing at Visionary Farms, the connection was obvious. A meeting was arranged. And it didn't take long from there.

Recognising the opportunity
Bureau design and build meeting pods built around one core idea: that where and how you work matters. Privacy, focus, acoustic comfort, they've thought deeply about all of it. What struck us immediately, sitting with their team for the first time, was how naturally the conversation turned to wellbeing. They weren't just thinking about where people sit. They were thinking about how people feel.
That's the conversation we live in every day at Visionary Farms. And we could see straight away how much our technology could add to their world.
Bureau's team jumped at the idea. Forward-thinking, collaborative, and genuinely excited by the possibilities, they were exactly the kind of partner we want to be building with. The innovation conversation started at that first meeting and hasn't stopped since.
Designing something new together
Working alongside Bureau's design team, we've looked carefully at how to maximise the use of space and impact within their existing pod designs. Every centimetre matters inside a pod. Every element has to earn its place. So we've worked together to integrate our grow light technology in a way that feels considered and intentional, not bolted on.
The result is something genuinely new: a planted biophilic meeting pod that doesn't ask you to choose between nature and functionality. Our smart grow light, with its built-in sensors and connected app, does the heavy lifting behind the scenes. The environment is monitored in real time. The plants are looked after. And the person inside the pod gets to simply be in the space and do their best thinking.
Connect with nature. Disconnect from distraction. A space designed to help you focus, where everything, including the greenery, is working for you.

Why biophilia and focus belong together
The relationship between nature and cognitive performance is one of the most well-documented areas in workplace wellbeing research. Time and time again, the evidence points in the same direction.
15% | 40% |
higher productivity in workplaces with natural elements (Human Spaces Global Report) | of workers say access to natural light and greenery is important when choosing a workplace (Leesman Index) |
37% | 6% |
reduction in reported anxiety in plant-enriched workspaces (University of Exeter) | higher memory retention reported after exposure to natural environments (University of Michigan) |
Attention Restoration Theory tells us that natural environments help the mind recover from directed attention fatigue - the kind of mental tiredness that comes from screens, meetings, and constant cognitive demand. Biophilic design doesn't just look good. It actively restores the capacity to focus.
A meeting pod with living plants isn't a nice touch. It's a performance tool.
Something big is coming
We've been working on something with Bureau that goes beyond the product itself. There's a project underway, one we genuinely believe will be significant for our industry and for the wider conversation around workplace wellbeing. We're not ready to share the details just yet, but the moment is coming.
If you want to be among the first to hear it, there's only one place to be.
